By "our country", I mean the USA, since most of our members are located there; no offense meant to those of other nationalities.
The political divide in the US hasn't been this great in over a century. The cost of living and inflation is out of control. Homelessness is at an all time high. We are watching both of the primary political parties focusing more on attacking and blaming each other rather than solving the problems that they are there to solve. There are people who are genuinely concerned that either we will fall into a second civil war, society will collapse, the Cuban Missile Crisis 2.0 is upon us, or any combination of the above.
Normally, I would disregard those ramblings as those of alarmists. But I find myself thinking that I really wouldn't be shocked if any of those things happened in the near future.
I humbly ask that we all pray for this country. We have strayed too far from God, and we are getting uncomfortably close to the point where only he can save us from ourselves. Pray that we make wise decisions in selecting the leaders in our government, and pray that he guide them and restore us to our former greatness.
In his holy name, amen.
Prayer request for our country
